Middle son, I am thinking all about you on your birthday today. I feel you don’t always get the day-to-day attention like your older and younger brothers. Here’s what gets my attention:
· When I yell for from the kitchen that I need help from someone getting dinner ready you are usually the first one to appear.
· Your appetite for reading has practically surpassed mine.
· You get up for school at 6:20 a.m. everyday using your own clock radio.
· You start your homework each day without being asked.
· You are a good friend (and you have no idea that kids at school argue over who is in your circle of friends).
· You have a remarkable maturity.
· You’ll comment that I look younger than someone on TV or in the paper.
· You aren’t afraid to be different.
· You are photogenic (I need to quit my job and start/manage for you a skater dude modeling career).
· You are so easy going.
I can’t wait to celebrate your 11th birthday tonight with our family! I love our one-on-one dates so let’s have one soon. I love that you and I are the only roller skaters in the family. I love that you will hold my hand for one trip around the rink and that you told me you would still do that even though you are 11 (as long as it's only you and I at the roller rink).

What a sweet post. I am struck by how different my middle son is from yours:)
He sounds like a treasure!
Wow! He does sound like a treasure. Think he could come over and give my 6 year some pointers? Especially about the homework part.
This is the most beautiful post. Your writing is spectacular. Every morning as I am rushing to throw on my jewelry, one of the last things I do before I rush out the door and rush everyone off the road to get to my "important" job, I pause to look at the picture of your family that you sent me last year. All of you looking so beautiful and sweet, especially the skater dude. It reminds me of what's really important in this world, and I remember back when you and I were just two young girls, trying to find our way. Now look at you! How blessed you are to have him, and how blessed is he to have such a great mom!
My Adventures After,
Wow. You made me cry. Thank you so much! Thank God for you in my life!
Ditto, sister!
