home

Here is what I am so appreciating about being home and not working:

--calling the dentist and
making appts for the two oldest boys for whatever time that was available (first visit in over a year - no cavities!)

--Watching a netflix dvd with the boys on a weeknight (Last 3 Days with Russell Crowe).

--Going to the grocery store during uncrowded daytime unlike weekend or on way home after work.

--When Middle son broke his skateboard deck on a Tuesday afternoon and asked if he could buy himself a new one soon, I drove him to the store the next morning.

--Ditto on similar errand needs.

--Had time to smell the roses and tend to vegetable garden.

--Although Hubs did 99% of the driving it worked out wonderfully that I did not have to fly back a few days earlier without them. Who would have made the boys the pb&j sandwiches in the car those last few driving days.

--No make up means not having to wash off mascara at night.

--Dinner is ready earlier.

--A much needed task gets done each day such as restacking and cleaning a kitchen cabinet.

--Time to send out good cover letters with my resume.

--Last but not least, have time to be with the boys, and I think they are glad about that too.Oldest wanted to be assured of getting new shoes and some back to school clothes in light of my unemployment. Fifteen year olds -- sheesh, but sure, they're easy-- a few new things from TJ Maxx is doable.

This is working out quite well for now, isn't it? I am so glad.

Well i don't envy the cover letter and resume part...that is always a challenge for motivation...

so happy about all the rest...i was off a few weeks before rick and he would come home daily and say "i wish we could afford to have you stay home...it is just so nice to come home to a clean house and dinner in the making" i am just happy he sees it not as my job all the time...but as a treat in the summer time!

i wish you luck with your job search, but for now enjoy the freedom & no time line of the summer months with your boys'!

These are the things that make my summer so worth it...and also, way too short.

Enjoy!

I hate to say it, but this stay-at-home thing can be kind of addicting. Not that there isn't MUCH genuine work to do, but it's kind of flexible, you know.

Welcome back home!

I am happy that you are able to take a little time just to enjoy. I know looking for a job is stressful, but taking advantage of this opportunity is also important!

Good luck!

It is always nice to spend some quality time at home. I'm so thankful for my job, but some morning I stumble out of bed and really wish that I could just sleep late and stay at home and just do home stuff.

The truth is that even when I was working in an office make up wasn't something I concerned myself with. But I totally get you on the grocery store!!

I am on the job search too. I love the flexibility of consulting but I really need to get a proper job again. But I'm spoiled now...
