My Morning Routine:

--make lunches usually for 5 people
--make sure middle son has everything needed, toss afternoon snack at him as they leave
--wipe youngest son’s glasses
--get his shoes from garage and help him get them on while watching clock
--drive youngest son in car to bus stop and wait because am still in pajamas and/or don’t feel like walking (he could go with husband but we like the extra 20 mins together)
--back in kitchen I now make coffee
--turn dryer on again because clothes from last night are not dry
--make oldest son’s lunch
--check email and look at blogs and comment
--wake up oldest son
--sometimes make oldest son’s breakfast but usually does it
--fold dry clothes and put back in appropriate basket
--clean up kitchen that looks like a warzone
--prep some food for dinner—may involve crockpot
--grab bills to pay at work
--talk with oldest son and sometimes quiz him on school work
--I now have 12 minutes to shower and dress
--sometimes iron shirt for son and maybe my own clothes
--I now have 8 minutes to shower and dress
--say goodbye to son who walks up the street for the school bus
--drive to work and do mascara at red lights.
(am very thankful for my job and this routine at home as it has not always been like this) )

I love you. really. I do.
I know my husband does things at work that I could not, or at least NOT want, to do.
HOWEVER.
I am constantly amazed at the MAJOR difference in our morning.
He takes care of HIMSELF.
and I take care of EVERYBODY.
Leads me to wonder...who is taking care of ME? Because I have run out of room on my list.
Whew! I loved reading your routines. This is the stuff I want to know about everyone. And you have got me beat big time. No way I could do all that every morning and still get myself ready in 12 minutes. Or I guess you do what you have to do, right?
Come on, summer!
Ah, May. You must really be looking forward to it. That is quite a routine.
My hellish routine tends to be in the late afternoon. Right now, for example, I'm in the throes of a homework wrestling match. Per the small child, I'm "mean and think of no one else." Yes, May. It can't come soon enough.
