Looking at our fish tank makes me think of the movie "Finding Nemo". I easpecially love the scenes that take place in the aquarium in the dentist’s office. Maybe we should buy a different type of aquarium, to help this algae situation, but honestly our fish seem pretty happy. We have that largish algae eater that is on the back of the aquarium in this photo. He is so shy that once he realizes we are looking at him (her?) he scurries away. There are also two very small algae eaters in here somewhere. I was assured last year that they earn their keep eating algae, but as you can see it is very green in this tank. Other algae eaters have gone belly up after a few days but the tank seems to work out for the six fish and three algae eaters that live here.
I have to say that Finding Nemo is my favorite animated film. I laugh loud every single time I watch the part where the dentist’s niece arrives and the ensuing chaos when the fish are flopping everywhere—don’t they play Psycho music when she appears?
I asked my youngest son what his most recommended animated film dvd would be and he says hands down “A Bug’s Life”. Ever see it? I love that line where the bugs stare at the electrocuting bug device and his friends say “Stop looking at the light!” and the bug says, “I can’t help it, it’s soo beautiful!”……zap.
My middle son says that a more recent dvd--Surf’s Up is his favorite. It is a great Father/Son movie. We never saw it out at the movie theater, but one of my SIL’s told me that my BIL and their son love watching it (and they are ages 56 and 22).
My oldest son can’t decide when I asked him which animated film is his favorite. I can tell you that when he was one year old the first video watched (in the vcr) was “Jungle Book”. I enjoyed it and knew that it was going to be the beginning of many movies to come. (We watched the Fox and the Hound too. Too sad about the Mommy Fox in the beginning!)
Which is your family's favorite animated film?
(Update this a.m..: Did I mention that I forgot to ask my Oldest his favorite animated movie until after he went to bed...so I woke him up. And that's when he said he couldn't think of one.
This morning he and his middle brother were laughing about my waking him up to ask him that. But for the integrity of the blog he has advised that his favorites are the Toy Story movies).

I personally like Little Mermaid.
We would all have to pick more than one - Nemo, both Toy Stories, Nemo, Cars. But my personal favorite, that I bought and have watched a dozen times, is UP. So much in it about family and something for every age. Even the 6yr old 'got it'. And the animation factor is awesome.
I love your fish tank! That skull is awesome.
Have you guys seen Up? It is my favorite recent one. It's just very sweet, as well as beautiful to look at. Matt and I both got teary watching it, I kid you not.
We haven't watched animated films around here in a long time. I remember though that one of my children could NOT get enough of Lady and the Tramp. Could NOT!
Wall E is a favorite, ooh, this is tough.
I really loved the Original 101 Dalmatians.
Snow White
Pinnochio
Wall E (but not me. hated it. sorry)
Kung Fu Panda
oh, I could go and on....
Well, it's not animated . . . but our family favorite (and I do mean favorite -- we've watched it at least six times) is Second Hand Lions. Love, love, love it.
We're big Toy Story fans over here. Both TS and TS2. Recently, I loved Up, and Fantastic Mr. Fox was pretty amazing.
Can't pick a fave. Love them all. And yes, I'm not a child.
I could never have fish, for the simple reason of maintenance, and lack thereof...
How's about some snails in the fish tank? We brought a couple from the pond outside indoors and so far so good.
I love the Nemo aquarium, too. Esp. the shrimp. Monsters, Inc. is pretty cute.
Fox and The Hound was definitely one of our very favorites. We even had a big vinyl record of it that we'd listen to. The record wasn't black it was full color on both sides with pictures from the cartoon. Loved that thing. "Kablam! Elimination. Lack of education." says Big Mama.
This IS hard. Hmmmm. I have to say that of late, it's WALL-e. Love it! Laugh outloud every time I watch. From the past, I'd say many Disney's are so good like Lady and the Tramp (meatball scene!) and 101Dalmations (I will never forget how scary Cruella was when I was 7 yrs. old!). Love Toy Story and Bug's Life, too
William has been a fan of The Incredibles for a while and Jason and Sarah love Cars right now. My favorite part of Finding Nemo is when all the fish escape and are in the harbor in the little bags. 'Now what?!' Cracks me up :)
The house favorite is Pixar Cars.
Mama's favorite is Cinderella.
You can guess which one gets watched the most.
Love your fish tank!! Even though those sucker things kind of gross me out. Then again, I love when Bloat burps in Nemo - great flick. We do skip the whole first 20 minutes or so - the whole family getting wiped out disturbs my Oldest. Can't say I blame him.
