(here is a view looking down on it in late October)Yesterday I took a walk jog around our neighborhood. In the distance there was thunder and I imagined lightning and I freaked myself out thinking I was going to be hit by lightning at any second and so I ran all the way up a hill.
Back at home I remembered about the Worm Moon and so I took a stick and poked it around my garden's dirt in four different places. Each time I didn't have to dig far to see some busy worms. (Has anyone read the book "Diary of a Worm" to his or her kids? It's a hoot.)
(here is a bunch of basil from last summer)

I'll keep letting the worms do their composting undisturbed until after April 15th. That is the date I always use as a guideline to not plant before then. The April we got married it snowed about 5 days before our wedding. Which was held outside. Luckily it ended up being a gorgeous day in the low 70's.
Enjoy the full moon tonight!

I love when you show shots of my beloved Georgia. The trees. Oh the trees!!! I wonder if I'll ever see a full moon again and not think of you and your awesome info.
Off to poke at my worms.
(Love Diary of a Worm. We have the whole series - Fly and Spider - hilarious!)
I am on spring break this week and even though today is cold, I am seeing 70's later in the week and have an itch to start planting....
Mid April is better, though. I can at least clean out the old stuff.
Mmmmm...that basil looks awesome! Do you grow your own garlic? My mom says it's the BEST garlic in the world when it's that fresh. I think she eats it raw (EW!)
Will have to get that book for my kids. I'm sure they'd love it!
I'm not as well planned as you are about your gardening. I wait until it is above 50 at night for 5 days in a row then plant. And yes, sometimes it doesn't work out so well. I can't wait for my basil to get bigger.
Our worms are busy too. And that moon- oh. That moon.
I could eat that basil right out of your hands right about now.
Awesome basil, awesome trees, awesome worms. Lovely stuff.
Ah, the Worm Moon. I came home from the baseball game, in awe of the rising moon. Huge! Figured you might post on it.
I dug in my garden this past weekend. Happy to see all the worms. Never would I have thought of a worm moon.
Hey you, there's an award for you on my blog today!
I love your moon posts! Really. I always learn so much. Worms?? Who knew? (Well, you did, obviously!)
And I have to say...I just read the post about the Coke souvenir the other day but couldn't comment then. Shocked! Appalled! We need an update :)
