I am now sitting here looking at the word I typed above: "snuck". I am thinking I should have written the word "sneaked". I just asked the boys in the next room--after all they are tested on reading, writing and 'rithmetic all year long and those CRCT tests are coming up. They are now responding that it should be "snuck". And they are asking me why do I care? I am having a deja vu feeling. (And I think this would be marked as an error on their test).
What they don't know is that I am positive that Becky of Suburban Matron would know, and she is on my mind a lot the past few weeks. She was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and has shared her current story recently and as usual she writes in a way that reflects just how she is: with grace, and humor and knows how to perfectly describe a situation, and her feelings. It is as if each word is carefully chosen, but seems effortless.
And then there is her family and extended family. Readers have asked how they can become adopted into it. I am lucky enough to have visited with her in person.
And there is her love of shopping--many times locally--and she has even been known to bring her camera and ask her readers' opinions such as, "Which shoe should I wear to a burlesque party?" And she lets us know what is hot at Target, like this Liberty of London line.
Plus I could go on and on about how many other wonderful people I have "met" through Becky -- I have hijacked many people from her blogroll and added them to my own, adding even more to my life.
So go visit Becky and send her your support. But you may find that you will visit for a while and will be hooked because you can't stop at just a few posts.
For a follow up, here is a boy smiling with his souvenir Coke bottle AT HOME from his field trip a couple of weeks ago.
Hope your weekend was wonderful. Back to work for me tomorrow. I'm saving my vacation days for the summer!

you have beautiful nails...commenting, as mine look like i teach kindergarten...short w/ little room for anything to get caught underneath the nail...so practical I am...could be the Alaska part of me.
so happy that your guy got his coke bottle...good for you for emailing the teacher!
easter...an interesting holiday...as we celebrate the spring part, but not so much the religion...so we have the spring bunny stop by and fill baskets with goodies...both boys' like that idea and they decided that they would hide the eggs for each other...kinda cute!
happy spring bunny day! hugs!!!
Love that your 3rd grader still wanted to participate. Gives me hope that I have a couple of years left :-)
And Liberty of London at Target - squeeee! I splurged on the peacock blue/green frame. I swear if the peacock print sundress is still in my size come pay day, I'm all over it.
Thanks for the link to Becky. Lawyer Mom suggested her site as well - great lady!! All you Georgia girls are. I'll be sticking around for sure.
I, too, made a 3pm Target visit on Saturday!!!!!
As I get older, I find that everything sneaks up on me faster...
Aw Michele, thank you for the sweet words and the shout out! I am feeling great today. I love your LoL mug! And your nails still look great.
Becky actually did a whole blog post on "sneaked" v. "snuck" several months ago...
I'm so glad that teacher didn't sneak/snuck the bottles away.
Now, off to visit Becky. On your say so.
Wow Michele - I have gone and spent some time at Becky's place - okay she is AWESOME and I'll have to know be checking in on her but her spirit is obviously resilient and strong and just what a soul she is. Jumps off the page....thanks for that link.
And thank goodness that Coke bottle thing has been resolved. I have been SOOO freaked out about it. :-) But really - knowing the real conclusion is nice but yeah, it all seems uh, weird.
And now I will also be emailing you because you won a DVD in my giveaway...do you even want it?
Email coming....
Easter snuck up on me too, did not sneak, snuck.
Your son is beautiful and I am so glad he got his Coke souvenir.
I will visit your friend. And, I dyed eggs this year, by myself. Snuck/sneaked into my 17yr old's bedroom while he was reading (no, wait none of my kid's read - I think he had my laptop and was watching a movie) and told him not to look. Hid a couple of the eggs and left a chocolate bunny. I hate to say it, but eggs probably still in his room. I knew there was a reason why I don't go upstairs.
Kid on couch...awesome.
Kid on couch with Coke bottle that is rightfully his but which was jacked by his TEACHER...priceless.
I also visited Becky and was totally inspired. Did not leave comment b/c I always feel like I'm intruding, especially since my blog has been blank since the day I created it almost 2 years ago...
Awesome photos.
Sadly my two kids did not color easter eggs at all this year. I was heart broken.
When does it happen that your little kids disappear into teens who dont have the time?
